Improvements:­

• Meeting:
  • You can now set a voter's vote weight to any whole number from 0 to 99. The higher weights carry through to the weighted result, the public display summary bar and the post minutes package (Sep 24)
• Attachments:
  • eScribe now accepts only a defined set of file types. This applies system-wide, anywhere a file can be uploaded. Legacy Microsoft Office files (.doc, .xls, .ppt) and rarely used file types are no longer accepted. Uploading one shows the message "The file you are trying to upload is not a supported file type."
    Files already in eScribe are not changed, and existing legacy Office files still convert and open as before. Areas that already allow a narrower set, such as PDF only, keep their current restriction. (Sep 1)
    Supported file types:
    • Documents: .pdf, .docx, .pptx, .xlsx, .csv
    • Web and text: .html, .htm
    • Images: .jpg (including .jpeg), .png, .tiff
    • Video: .mp4, .mov
    • Audio: .mp3
• Document Numbering:
  • Document Settings now includes Add Document Number to Document Name in the Document Numbering section, replacing Append Document Number to Document Name. Choose Beginning, End, or Do Not Include to control where the document number appears in the document name. Existing settings carry over, so enabled becomes End and disabled becomes Do Not Include. Document numbers can no longer contain a period (Sep 2)
• Documents:
  • Users can no longer change or remove your own access to a document. When you open a document's permissions, your name still appears in the list, but your own access is locked. This keeps you from losing access to your documents by mistake (Sep 15)
  • The Meeting Date field now tells you when a meeting type has no upcoming meetings. A message under the field reads "There are no upcoming meetings scheduled for this meeting type," so you know why you cannot pick a date (Sep 16)
  • Document templates now support any number of motions. The previous limit was ten motion placeholders per template. Templates can now use eScribe-Motion10 and higher, so every motion in a long meeting is recorded. Existing templates keep working with no changes (Sep 23)
• Approvals:
  • Approval Groups can now use Approver Assistant and Auto-Delegate together. Approver Assistants and Administrators can delegate a request right away, and Auto-Delegate stays as a backup if the approval step is not approved in time. The approval history now lists the names of automatically assigned delegates (Sep 28)
• User Roles:
  • User roles are now simpler. Each user has one primary role with optional add-on permissions, replacing the old model where any combination of roles could be assigned. Existing users were converted automatically and keep the same access they had before (Sep 23)

Fixes:

• Meetings:
  • Vote results now display consistently on the Public Display after voting is closed. Previously the results grid could flash and disappear instead of staying on screen (Sep 18)
  • The speaker queue timer on the Public Display now matches the timer shown when the meeting is in session. Previously the Public Display could show a different amount of time than the one you set (Sep 23)
  • Vote results now display correctly on the Public Display after a vote closes. Before, the Public Display could briefly flicker and not show the results, even when your display settings were set to show them (Sep 29)
• Agenda Packages:
  • Attachments are now included when you publish HTML to the public portal. Previously the first publish failed, and a second attempt published the agenda with none of the attachments (Sep 23)
• Search:
  • Internal search returned only related documents, and left out matching agenda items, minutes, and motions, even when the search term appeared in them. Search now returns agenda items, minutes, and motions together with documents, so you can find a meeting record from any place the term was used (Sep 11)
• Documents:
  • Text that followed a bulleted or numbered list inside a content control was dropped when a document was approved and added to an agenda item. The list appeared correctly, but any paragraphs after the list were lost. This affected documents edited in both the eScribe document editor and Word Online (Sep 1)
  • Admins received an error when attempting to approve a document from the document list (Sep 4)
  • Duplicating an approved document carried the approval and signature details from the original into the copy, so the new document looked like it was already approved. A duplicate is now created clean, without those details, and it collects its own approvals when you send it through a workflow (Sep 11)
  • When using the option 'Attach to new agenda item' the Parent and Place Item After fields were not automatically populating (Sep 23)
  • Creating the agenda item from the Approved tab of the Documents List no longer returns an error (Sep 23)
• Approvals:
  • Approval Group Admins can now open an approval group without errors. When you click Add Permission, the Meeting Type list shows the available meeting types (Sep 16)
• Users:
  • Users can now sign in with the Azure option. Previously some users were sent back to the Sign in Options page after Azure signed them in, with no error message (Sep 24)
