Approving a Document as a Delegate – Approvals Tab

When a Document begins an Approval Request, users assigned to the Approval (Approver or Delegate) will need to complete the approval through their Contributor account in eScribe. All pending user approvals are located under the Approvals tab and clear out once completed. The legend below will guide users through the Approval process (Follow Steps 1-6).

StepExpected Behaviour
1- ApprovalsThe Approvals option will list all Documents pending Approval for the user.
2- View Pending RequestGuides user to the Approval Pending Request Screen.
3- CommentsAllows approver the option to leave comments when Accepting or Declining a request. Comments can be accessed through the Approval History menu option of the Document.
4- View Document

Allows user to open the Word Document to view and make changes as needed. Any changes made will be visible to the next user in the Approval queue if applicable.

 

Please note: user maybe asked to enter their credentials to access the Word Document.

5- Manage Supporting DocumentsAllows user to add additional documents, Reorder, Rename and Delete. Approvers can edit documents that are created using Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PPT) only.
6- Approve or Decline

Approve:

  • Approve the corresponding step in the approval queue as Completed and will move onto the next approver if applicable.

Decline:

  • Decline will change the status of the Document from Pending to Declined. The Author will receive notification of the Decline.
