Role of the Assistant in the Approval Process

Assistants, if listed as part of an Approval step, will receive an email stating that their Approver has been assigned a task to approve a document. If the Assistant is aware that their Approver is unable to approve the document, they may reassign the task to a Delegate, by clicking on the link that says View Approval Request in the email notification or by logging into eScribe>Approvals tab.

Approvers may have multiple Assistants and Delegates listed – all users will receive the email as Assistants, however only the selected the Delegate(s) will receive an email to complete the process.

NOTEIf no Delegate is listed, Assistants will have to contact an Administrator to approve the document on their Approver's behalf.

Triggering the Delegate

In the approval request screen, the designated Assistant clicks “Delegate”

In the fly out, select which user is going to be the Delegate (back up approver) to trigger the task. An email will be sent out to delegate informing that an approval request is pending and can be completed by logging into eScribe.
